I once visited my local Odean Cinema complex to see the then latest Star Wars instalment, The Empire Strikes Back. I was only a small boy, six years old, and I distinctly recall how overwhelming it all felt - not the film itself but the enormity of the screen room, it was like being lost in a steep forest of seats and people. I was scared. So, while I sat just outside the screen room door, glum-faced, my father watched the movie from inside the doorway. Still, I got to experience director Irvin Kershner's masterpiece years later, on video cassette! Nowadays it would simply be purchased and downloaded, or streamed, on a tablet. Technology, eh? I was such a peculiar kid.
